Bite The Buffalo are a two-piece stomp rock ‘n roll outfit currently based in Bath. Originally born in the mining towns of the Copperbelt in Central Africa, these two brothers, by the names of Stos and Miti Goneos, set off to the UK to share their sonic ramblings and catchy fast-paced beats.
Having already released a six-track EP titled ‘Bromigos’ back in 2012 and their debut album ‘Blue Lips’ last year, the band have completed a number of tours in Europe and the US and performed a set on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
Now, 2015 looks to be a great year for the duo as not only will they be releasing a new album (currently being put together in the studio), but Bite the Buffalo have just been announced as the next artist to sign to Gabrielle Aplin’s record label Never Fade Records. Aplin said, “They’re my pals. They are great. So excited for you to hear their music and see their ridiculous music video.” And there’s no doubt about it – ridiculous was the right word to use.
The first single by Bite The Buffalo to be released through Never Fade Records is the incredibly catchy ‘Polka Dots’, fitting perfectly between the musical styles of The Kooks, Blur and the infamous Beatles. The video, written and directed by Rhory Danniells, sees the duo make an interesting appearance as boom box speakers, but it’s the end of the video that’s got everyone talking.
