8th November | Area 404

Four sold-out events without any line-up announcements. That’s what happens when Boomtown open up a brand-new venue.

At the end of August, the hysteria that swept the country following the announcement of Area 404 was nothing short of insanity. The second-largest festival in the UK, Boomtown is a Bristol-born beast which shows no signs of halting its evolution.

Area 404 was the newest addition to the summer festival this year. The multi-venue, post-apocalyptic space was situated in the techno mecca of the site. With trance, minimal, acid house and more, the area proved to be one of the most popular destinations of the 2019 weekend.

In true Boomtown storytelling style, the air of mystery surrounding the opening, entitled Boomtown Halloween, has largely remained under wraps. As little hints have been leaked on socials, the biggest question has remained who is playing, until yesterday. Ticket holders have now received the roster, and it has been met with quite a fiery reception.

The majority of those playing have been frequenting the festival line-up for years. Including Nadia Rose, Beans on Toast, Septabeat and more, the acts span from live bands to underground DJs.

Area 404 is set to be an immersive experience which takes the spirit of Boomtown’s wonderment to a new realm. With future shows at the hub still unknown, this quadruple Halloween bash certainly has a lot to live up to already.
