24th February | The Lanes

When listening to the European-sounding 80s grooves of Boy Harsher, you wouldn’t think that this duo hailed from Massachusetts. With a few EPs and hedonistic LPs in their repertoire, their first appearance in Bristol will make for a raucous Sunday service.

Their own brand of electronica weaves through sci-fi beats to even darker undertones. Made by lead singer, Jae Matthews and August Muller as their producer, the duo have been dominating the alt-dance world since their formation in 2013. With apparent influences from bygone eras, Boy Harsher prevail in their ability to produce classics which sound as if they’re timeless.

If the duo weren’t enough of a pull towards having a late-weekend dance at The Lanes, the evening’s support comes in the form of Kontravoid. The EDM producer provides alluring mixes; he is becoming equally as revered for his enthralling sets which remain innovative.

This gig comes in the middle of a whopping tour for Boy Harsher. Their presence has been highly anticipated, with the event selling out so quickly. The line-up promises a lively night, soundtracked by two acts which set their own boundaries. With both having perfected their neo-retro sound and gained a captive audience, this show is set to go down as a banger.
