Davidge – ‘Slo Light’ | Album Review

Debuts don’t often roll off the back of CVs as strong as that of producer-composer (Neil) Davidge, the longtime Massive Attack collaborator that you’re more likely to have heard than heard of. Credited on everything from David Bowie to Snoop Dog, he most recently made the soundtrack to Halo 4.

Such facts are muchly all you need to know about ‘Slo Light’. These are thirteen considered and patient electro-soundscapes from a highly experienced hand. The variety of instrumentation impresses without ever surprising and, chances are, your interest in each track will live and die on your taste in guest vocalist – it’s all about Stephonik Youth on the opener, for me.
