After a swift change of venue this month, Southampton four-piece Dead Rabbits are set to bring their sonic assault to Bristol. Their recently released second album on Fuzz Club Records, the introspectively titled ‘TimeIsyourOnlyEnemy’ has been receiving clamours of success and I want to find out if new wave psychedelia is truly alive with this band.

Fans of My Bloody Valentine, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Primal Scream won’t be disappointed by Tom Hayes’ dreamy, antagonistic vocal emanating throughout loud, fuzzed-up guitars, atmospheric synth and hard-hitting drum-beats. In fact, Dead Rabbits seem to proudly wear their influences on their sleeve, simply wanting to create the music they love and share it with whoever is drawn into their edgy blend of shoegaze, psychedelia and moody rock ‘n’ roll.

Having supported the likes of Band of Skulls and The Warlocks, and now venturing confidently further down their own musical path, this band are about to take off in a serious way.
