Switzerland’s Eluveitie are certainly a bit different. They’ve been described previously as the “new wave of folk metal”, which I think is pretty apt. Instead of continuing with the humppa (Scandinavian polka) trend popularised by many of their folk metal contemporaries, Eluveitie take things in a decidedly Celtic/Gallic direction, leading to a considerably darker sound.

The eight (that’s right, eight) band members will be hitting the thankfully large stage at the Bierkeller on the 16th of November, bringing not only guitars and drums as standard, but twin vocalists, violins, flutes, whistles, bagpipes, a hurdy gurdy, and Toutatis knows what else. It’s going to be super fun, my lovelies.
