Originally formed in 2013 and fronted by talented vocalist Natassja Shiner, indie-pop outfit Fickle Friends are embarking on their biggest tour to date. It’s an understatement to say the band have worked hard to be where they are now – the Brighton quintet toured the UK for two years without a record label, releasing huge singles like blissful pop banger ‘SWIM’ as they went. Appearing at an impressive 53 festivals over two years, the band have played alongside big names and some of the most ground-breaking artists in alternative music, no doubt proving themselves to discerning crowds.

The band made a great impression when they supported Birmingham dream-poppers Jaws at Exchange back in 2014, and have since played Thekla, Dot to Dot Festival, Rough Trade and more in the city. Now signed to Polydor Records, the band released their first studio album on that label, You Are Someone Else, this spring. They recorded it in LA, so no surprise that it’s a bundle of summery disco vibes and hooks you can’t help dancing to. Hot off the back of a massive US tour and yet more festival appearances, the band are sure to be met with the same fondness as their first appearances in the city at their forthcoming SWX show.
