This year’s finalists for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition have been announced! The competition is judged by blogs and magazines from all over the country – including us and fellow Bristolians The Know – and gives one act the chance to play on one of Glastonbury Festival’s main stages this summer.

Flohio, Josh Barry, Lilith Ai, Lucas & King, Silences, Tyni, WOWH and Young Yizzy have all been picked from a 120-strong long list to go through to the live finals to battle it out for the converted Glastonbury slot.

Emily Eavis said of the competition: “Each year, we are blown away by the sheer amount of great music that’s being made by new, upcoming artists in the UK and Ireland. There really is so much talent out there, and it certainly wasn’t easy to narrow it down to just eight finalists. But we’ve ended up with a really strong list of acts and I can’t wait to see them all perform at the live final.”

The winner will also receive a £5,000 PRS Foundation Talent Development prize, whilst two runners up will receive £2500.

The final will be taking place on Saturday 22 April, so keep an eye out for the winner!
