Just a quick glance at HMLTD is enough to get even the least curious minds interested. The 6-piece, who are based in London – but have roots in the UK, Greece and France – have quickly crafted an infamous reputation as off-the-wall pop provocateurs, and their Adam Ant-esque new romantic image only adds to this mystique.

Last time the band came to Bristol, they took over the Old England pub, bringing dark glamour to the drinking-hole. Friday’s sold out slot at The Louisiana proves how quickly they have blown up. With only a handful of singles to their name so far, including the mind-bending spaghetti western of ‘To The Door’, there will be plenty of unheard of material to take you by surprise.

The combination of the razor sharp riffs, gang vocals and electronic breakdowns will likely dissolve The Louisiana into a sweaty mess, plus those who get down to the venue early will be rewarded by the snarling grunge of The Dead Pretties and psychotic country-flavoured post-punk of local boys LICE.
