Iceage + Idles | Preview

It’s impossible not to get carried away in the rackety flair of Iceage’s third album ‘Plowing Into A Field Of Love’. The record left us somewhat desperate for the Danish lot to come over to England, but luckily the chaps behind Simple Things are putting on a show at The Fleece on May 5th.

Their gigs have gained a reputation for being beautifully shambolic in recent years, they often rock up without the right equipment, are late, and generally a bit all over the place. This only adds to the spontaneous and intense nature of their shows though. It’s far from easy to stand out in the world of punk, but the languid, lethargic approach of Iceage has worked effectively during their short time in the limelight.

Teaming up with the band on the night are Bristol’s favourite alt-punk outfit Idles. Joe Talbot leads the way for this maddening bunch as they drop tracks like ‘Queens’ and ‘1049 Gotho’. They might be Bristol based, but it’s not all that often you’ll see them live, so it’s well worth snatching this opportunity. We’re in for absolute chaos this May.
