Addressing subjects that many wouldn’t have the nerve to go near, John Grant is an artist both striking and remarkable. His debut album ‘Queen Of Denmark’ delves into matters of alcoholism, drug abuse and homosexuality.
You could say his biggest success however was the follow up ‘Pale Green Ghosts’. Having been crowned Rough Trade’s album of the year and receiving endless airplay on 6 Music, it increased integrity levels even higher. Packed with electronic soundscapes and his uniquely husky voice, these records will no doubt resonate as they flow through Colston Hall this November.
As if things couldn’t get more special, he’ll be backed by the Royal Northern Sinfonia orchestra, making this show a ridiculously warming break in the bitter lead up to Christmas.
