NASS, the UK’s biggest celebration of music, street art, skate and BMX, has recently announced over 40 new acts including Lily Allen, who joins the bill as their Sunday night headliner. She’s always had a summery vibe to her, ever since 2006’s ‘Smile’, which you can still see over a decade on in 2018’s ‘Lost My Mind’. Entertainment with energy and attitude is in store as she closes the four-day festival on Sunday 12 July.
Also added to the bill are acts such as Octavian, Public Enemy Radio (feat: Chuck D, DJ Lord, Jahi + S1W) and Jaykae, alongside already announced headliners, Chase & Status RTRN II Jungle (DJ Set) and The Streets. Nearby Pilton may often be afforded greater clout in the Somerset festivals Top Trumps pack, but with a line-up like NASS has, perhaps we should also be shortening Shepton Mallet to ‘Shepto’ as a term of endearment.
Multi-platinum selling Public Enemy Radio (feat: Chuck D, DJ Lord, Jahi + S1W) will return to NASS on Sunday July 12th with an explosive set, packed full of classics. Since the release of ‘Party Here’ and its follow up, ‘Hands’ and ‘100 Degrees’, BBC Sounds of Music 2019 winner Octavian has won praise from the likes of Drake and walked the runway for Louis Vuitton. His appearance on NASS’ mainstage on Saturday 11 July is set to be a highlight of the festival. Jaykae returns to NASS after a bar-setting show in 2019.
Other acts announced include B-Live, Big Zuu, Catalyst, Charlie Tee, Designate, DJ Q b2b Jamie Duggan, DJ Skt, Endor, Fatman D, Gusto, Jakes, Jess Bays, Klimax, Mad Villains, Millenium Dubs (Royal T & Champion), Noisy, Pa Salieu, Scratcha DVA & Lady Lykez, Sammy Porter, Sam Supplier, Sicaria Sound, Sorley, Staminia MC, Tempa T and Zach Said.
There’s also a healthy dose of techno from Bristol-based promoters, APEX who will bring Paleman, Addison Groove, Manni Dee, Neil & I, Graphite, Burno, Precinct, Remi, Dorney, Dani Whylie, Ian Apex, Marcus Octavian, Wavezd & Remi Wanless, Apex Residents, Other, Naylor, Iba & Red, Peats, Wavezd and Mulholland to The Box.
NASS returns to Shepton Mallet between Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th July. Tickets are on sale here.
