It’s been three years since Lord Huron last released new music, but that does not mean they haven’t remained very much heard. Tracks like ‘Ends of the Earth’ and ‘The Night We Met’ featured on TV shows and films like 13 Reasons Why, A Walk in the Woods and Community, which last year promoted the former track’s re-entry into the international charts.

Beginning its life as a solo project by Ben Schneider, the band grew organically, and support and live shows did the same. The band takes its moniker from the great expanse of its near-namesake, Lake Huron in Michigan. Those influences can still be heard, folk-inspired percussion and guitars, combining with atmospheric melodies and uplifting vocals.

On Sunday, the band come to SWX as part of string of dates across Europe and North America. The absence of new releases will surely intrigue those long-standing fans, but there will also be those who are fresh listeners to Lord Huron, for whom ‘old’ tracks are new.

Not to be missed are Flyte, the British band supporting Lord Huron at this show. Their recently-released debut album was three years in the making, retaining an iconic mix of British moodiness and classic old-style vocals. Their cinematic vibes and harmonic choruses are sure to compliment the headline slot.
