Manchester Orchestra | Preview

When the music world swallowed Manchester Orchestra’s¬†fourth album ‘Cope’, it was felt by the majority that the band¬†had notched things up a level. For myself the record brings fond memories of trawling a cold Park Street for their packed in-store at Rise last year.

That show will be very different to their next visit though, as the crowd no doubt substitute steamy beverages for something a little colder as Manchester Orchestra’s bulky anthems wash over the Anson Rooms (27th). Expect big crunchy guitars coupled with more intimate moments of old, we’ll be hooked in by ballads of triumph and belief from the word go.

This could just be the perfect way to welcome in touring season; after all, they’ve a heady reputation for live shows that truly hit the spot.
