We might be reaching the end of the summer season but there is still one more festival event to come, and arguable the biggest homecoming show to happen in Bristol over the last 10 years.
Legendary trip hop pioneers Massive Attack are returning to their hometown for a special one-day event at the Downs on 3rd September. This will be the band’s first home city performance since 2003 and large-scale live event on the Downs since 2001.
Both the band and Team Love, the organisers behind the event, are hoping for this to be a yearly event, aiming to ‘engage with the important social and political issues of the day’ as well as showcasing the diverse range of musical talent across the field.
The full line-up has been announced, with Scottish giants Primal Scream, grime king Skepta, post punk warriors Savages and Texas group Khuangbin all joining Massive Attack on the main stage. The second stage will boast some of the band’s favourite Bristol artists including Smith and Mighty, Pinch, Stryda and Idle Hands.
Tickets are sold out for this event but resales can be found over at Twickets for the lucky few who are still keen to attend. It promises to be a show like no other.
