Hailing from the same scene as The Menzingers and The Wonder Years, Philly alt-emo-sometimes acoustic-pop-punkers Modern Baseball are hitting up Bristol for the first time on the 29th.
They cite their main influences as dinosaurs, dragons and the Motion City Soundtrack (the former two being the creatures, not niche bands you haven’t heard of), and you pretty much get what you’d imagine with this. They write often fun, often incredibly introspective, self deprecating and honest songs. They always lay down witty lyrics and sing them over healthy spread of music, ranging from the tender and acoustic ‘Pothole’, ‘I Think You Were In My Profile Picture Once’ through to the fast paced stuff that’ll get you jumping at their shows like ‘Rock Bottom’ and ‘Tears Over Beers’.
Catch Modern Baseball for what is sure to be an exhilarating show at The Fleece on the 29th.
