Nasty Little Lonely ‘Bad Jack & Other Stories’ | EP Review

The rather genre-defying Nasty Little Lonely are back with an EP of terrible tales. Title track ‘Bad Jack’ rattles in like someone playing your skeleton whilst still in your body. Riding in and out of stark sections with confidence, by the rather doom-y ending it’s easy to wonder if it’s perhaps you that’s changed, your ears altered forever by way of some terrifying drug.

The somewhat martial snare-work of ‘Blood On The Floor’ beckons an almost danceable interlocking bassline which, combined with it’s freeing chorus, makes for an EP highlight that even approaches ‘feel-good’.

No-one juxtaposes sweet and sour quite like NLL, and they do so with flair and ambition.
