Heading out on their very first UK tour, Party Hardly are breaking out of their Leeds bedrooms, jumping in the van and heading for Bristol this Sunday for a night of frivolous guitar-pop. Having staked their claim in their home town as hosts of a good-time show, their first foray south will be a particularly exciting proposition. Watch as they let loose with some melody-heavy infectious pop, that’s as sardonic and self-deprecating as it is snappy and enlivening.
If that doesn’t already whet your appetite, Party Hardly’s unassuming ability with a hook will draw you in further. Last year’s salvo of singles was a set of tasters for what the band were capable of, the back to back snap of ‘Have We Got Time’ and then ‘Oh My God’, in particular a no-nonsense burst of energy that was lined with a softer, more emotionally accessible side to the band. It’s a side to them that actually compliments their looser, more witty style, laced with bad decisions and youthful naïvety that we can’t help but empathise with.
Hosted by Leisure Records and joined in support by Bristol favourites, Tropic and Rainmaker, Sunday night is set to present a night full of captivating, home-grown music.
