1st December | Crofters Rights
With a debut album in the pipeline, very much near the daylight part of said pipeline too, and imminent support slots with (Sandy) Alex G, Pet Shimmers crowned a hugely majestic first year with a headline show at The Crofters Rights. Anything that involves Oliver Wilde in an ethos-setting position is bound to move in mysterious ways.
But Bristol tends to be a haven for such ‘Long live the open-minded’ thinking and bands that use that mantra to plough furrows that are wonky, beautiful and fertile. Their set at The Crofters Rights suggested that the ephemeral ‘shimmer’ of their name will bear very little relation to the brilliance and permanence with which they’re starting to shine.
