Evie Woods – ‘Relics’ | EP Review

Released: 24th October

With a refreshing narrative approach to songwriting, often exiled in return for those dollar making choruses, this four track EP is a journey through various acoustic sub-genres, each track giving a breif glimpse into the future directions for this young (but talented) new arrival.

‘Dust’ offers up a helping of earthy country infused folk, while the intro of ‘The Ability To Lie’ shows a tantilising peep into what Evie Woods could be like if her band were a little more restrained. Not to say the band takes away from the experience, ‘Do You Dream’ is a great example of how by adding bluegrass guitar, Evie Woods has the ability to steer her songs any way she pleases.
