He’s all over your Twitter, on the cover of magazines and even the poster boy for TopMan. Now having bagged the Critic’s Choice BRIT Award, it appears that the only way is up for Geordie, Sam Fender.

Since the release of ‘Play God’ in 2017, it’s been hard to escape Fender-mainia due to his uniquely agile vocals and memorable tunes. His care-free, sarcastic social media presence has captured the hearts of an indie generation who want a bit of rebellion, whilst catapulting him into pop territory.

Despite the full-throttle momentum into the media’s spotlight, where Fender prevails is that his work is all inarguably underpinned by poignant messages of sorrow and social gripes. From male mental health to Poundshop Kardashians, he’s been consistently open to thematically tackling issues, which is quite refreshing to hear in a pop landscape that is a little stale at the minute. Although he has been thrown into a world he mocks, his work is continually admirable. This tour celebrates his debut album, Hypersonic Missiles, which is yet to be released, yet already so sought after.

Adding to the Newcastle output, the slightly heavier A Festival, A Parade will be joining as support on the immense UK & EU tour. This night is certain to possess frenzied fans. Sam Fender is an artist who simply can’t be ignored.
