The team behind Simple Things festival just seem unable to rest on their laurels. Adding to this years festival dates, a new event, Simple Things EXT, has now been announced. This is more than just a few extra acts added onto the main festival though. Simple Things EXT is “an extended programme of unique performances, talks and art installations” supported by the Arts Council. In the week proceeding the main festival (which btw features acts like Death Grips, Warpaint and Nina Kravitz), a whole list of incredible one off events will be taking place all over Bristol.

Kicking off on the 17th October, the weeks events kick off with a performance by members of The British Paraorchestra – the first ever British orchestra comprised wholly of disabled musicians – who will collaborate with At Bristol to remix Terry Riley’s minimalist classic ‘In C’ as a sound and visual experiment taking over the planetarium dome. Else where in the week you’ll be able to see electro double act Dopplereffekt perform live on 19th October, take part in discussions about Bristol’s DIY scene, music in the digital age and other pertinent topics in the Watershed over the 21st & 22nd, and even experience a special audio-visual display inside At Bristol’s Planetarium between the 17th & 19th.

There are literally so many once-in-a-lifetime performances going on over the week that I will bet you a fiver there’s something on the list for you. Check out the full event here.
