Bristol club SWX has been taken over by the Electric Group, the team behind London venue Electric Brixton, who are aiming to into a live staple.

The club, formally known as Syndicate, has been putting on more and more artists since it re-opened a few years ago under its current name. The large capacity room, coupled with an impressive sound-system, has meant that acts the size of Sylvan EssoRide and Thee Oh Sees have already played, whilst the venue has been used for Simple Things festival and Dot to Dot festivals over the last two years.

The new owners have said that they want to work with both national and local promoters to put shows on throughout the week, including Fridays and Saturdays, before the venues usual club nights start.

Dominic Madden, Electric Group co-founder, said: “We operate with an independent mindset, shaping an easy and collaborative culture for promoters to embrace SWX with as few financial strings attached as possible.”

The venues upcoming shows include Aldous Harding, Lewis Capaldi and Sikth.
