It’s been quite the year for the London-based purveyors of guttural darkness, Talk Show. Having been taken under the wing of the infamous YALA records for the release of their debut single, ‘Fast & Loud’, the quartet have moved from strength to strength, lurking amongst the UK’s festival circuit and amassing quite the critical buzz around their name.
Being championed by big names, such as IDLES and the NME, Talk Show have begun to truly thrive within the DIY and independent scenes of the South. Spins of the aforementioned ‘Fast & Loud’ by the ever-present BBC Radio 6 and Radio 1 have proven instrumental in Talk Show’s impressive rise from dark, damp London indie sets to performances across the country’s biggest summer stages. It sets a perfect scene for the band’s sophomore single, ‘Ankle Deep’ to infiltrate the airwaves.
Not only content with their sonic output, Talk Show have also proven themselves as proficient with aesthetics as they are with music. Frontman, Harrison recently championed Fred Perry’s latest advertising campaign, with his stark and striking portrait gracing buildings from England to Italy, surely generating interest in the band’s international appeal.
With Talk Show’s buzz steadily reaching a fever pitch, the band are set to knuckle down on a collection of releases for the new year. Before that, the enigmatic quartet have unfinished business with the country’s more intimate venues.
