Post-punk never really went away, but it is enjoying something of a mainstream renaissance right now thanks to bands like IDLES, Slaves and Fontaines D.C.. Like the latter, The Murder Capital are an Irish-based post-punk group, formed in 2015.

They have spent 2019 releasing their first few singles and garnering a reputation as one of the must-see live bands of the moment. A rapturously-received set at Brighton’s Great Escape Festival in May kicked off a Summer full of gigs and festival appearances for the band which included Latitude and Roch Wertchter. The Summer ended with the release of the band’s debut album, When I Have Fears, which went straight into the UK top 20 and debuted at number two in Ireland.

Every single date of their UK tour this month sold out well in advance. They were last in Bristol at Hy Brasil Music Club (RIP). They return to play Exchange and you can be certain that this is your last chance to catch them in rooms this size.
