Bristol’s 1020 Radio have today announced a charity music compilation which they are releasing in support of NHS staff in Bristol for the Above and Beyond appeal. The compilation will be released on April 24th.

It features 25 original compositions from local artists and associates of the radio station, and covers a huge range of electronic music styles that Bristol culture has helped nurture over many years. All profits from the compilation will be donated to the Bristol-based charity, raising vital funds to help support frontline NHS staff in Bristol city centre hospitals.

1020 Radio has been an integral part of Bristol’s music culture since 2015, championing creativity, diversity and community. This compilation forms the beginning of a series of 1020 Curated releases, showcasing and celebrating the street-level sounds that epitomise 1020’s foundations.

Kicking off the first edition is long-standing 1020 resident and Sheffield-based producer unperson, who has curated a 25-track manifesto featuring the station’s artists and associates, exploring abstract sonic territories and monolithic soundscapes.

Available exclusively from Bandcamp on Friday April 24th, the first 25 copies come bundled with a premium 350gsm print designed by Montag Freedoms. All proceeds will be donated directly to Above & Beyond, supporting the wellbeing of frontline NHS staff and volunteers, who are tackling the unprecedented challenge of providing care against COVID-19.

We salute the frontline helpers and those, like 1020 Radio, who do whatever they can to help the helpers.
