Issue #95 | December 2019

Read the December issue with Kate Stapley, Albums of the Year, listings and more.

Another year gone by, another slew of excellent music irreversibly etched into our minds. In December, I start to feel two things: One, very tired ahead of what is essentially our only holiday of the year. Two, extremely proud of what music-land has achieved, from the work of our favourite artists, to the work of the pals who make this magazine possible.

Frankly, there’s no better way to get re-pumped for music than shouting about the records you couldn’t get enough of, in textbook evangelical fashion. As we round-off our eighth year at it, we look at some of our favourite albums of 2019, be they hyped releases or ones you may have missed.

Gracing our December cover is Bristol’s own Kate Stapley. Back after a break, she releases the first wave of new material via Breakfast Records this month, with a full-length due next year. She talks to us about what’s changed since Centella, balancing the light with the dark and living in the city we all call home.
