As the festive season ramps up to ‘Fifth mince pie? Don’t mind if I do’ levels, who knew that we were already heading towards potential FOMO territory, and be looking well ahead to the festival season? NASS, the UK’s biggest celebration of music, street art, BMX and skate has announced two of its three headliners in The Streets and Chase & Status (RTRN II Jungle DJ Set). Further down the bill, we’re extra-super excited at the prospect of Mahalia, Andy CGreentea Peng and Ms Banks.

You may well have caught The Streets just down the road in Pilton at 2019’s Glastonbury Festival. Ever since their debut album, Original Pirate Material, they have been at the forefront of music largely inspired by boring, bog-standard Barratt homes Britain, and despite its roots in mundanity and ugliness, it manages to distil beauty and tenderness in its lyrical content. Urban hits like ‘Dry Your Eyes’ and ‘Blinded By The Lights’ will be sung by one and all in the green fields of Somerset.

NASS takes place from 9th-12th July at Shepton Mallet Showground. You, and 29,999 others could be enjoying eleven stages and overheating blissfully to drum and bass, R&B, hip-hop and jungle. Beyond the music, NASS also provides the finest in skate and BMX competitions, with top international names battling it out. Street art (the genre, not art from nearby Street) brings an extra dimension to the festival and an extra beauty to the festival site. Bristol-based artists The Hass and Kin-Dose have already created two murals to accompany the unveiling of Chase & Status and The Streets as headliners.
