Bath quartet Farebrother this year have been stirring up excitement with their stadium-ready, infectiously-catchy indie rock.
To round off a fantastic year that has seen them grab support slots with The Amazons, The Sherlocks and All Tvvins, the band are today premiering new single ‘A Little Late’ before it goes live tomorrow.
It’s something a little different from the band, adding a layer of grime to their usually bright sound. That’s not to say that the bands usual hallmarks – driving drums, soaring choruses and impassioned vocals – aren’t there, only that they’ve got a layer of darkness to them not seen before from Farebother.
“Despite the majority of the song’s feel, ‘A Little Late’ is a blatant love song,” explains frontman Tom Hunt. “It’s an attempt to try and tap into the emotions and the comfort that certain people can surround you with, and articulate that into any sort of sense, or anything that you could maybe start to comprehend. And of course, that ultimately results in failure, and the constant circling of emotionally dense waffle. It’s trying to capture that moment, that feeling, when something can be everything and nothing at the same time.”
With songs this addictive, it’s more than likely you will find yourself shouting the lyrics back at the band at some point next year.
