East India Youth ‘Culture Of Volume’ | Album Review

East India Youth’s mercury-nominated debut was capable of slowing life right down, in fact you had no choice but to immerse yourself in the gradual electronic precision of it all.

His second record ‘Culture Of Volume’, however, is much more accessible. It’s bigger-sounding, quicker to the point and perhaps more cutting. We’re gifted with textured synths as before, but, quite simply, there’s something extra this time around. ‘End Result’ could well be the best track I’ve heard this year, flaunting a gluey vocal that only William Doyle can provide. Head down to Rise later in the month for a special in-store — just leave room for me.
