Sleaford Mods ‘Key Markets’ | Album Review

How do you critique a Sleaford Mods record? A record that in its essence doesn’t need to be analysed, nor gives f*ck what you think? ‘Key Markets’ is another belligerent clatter of infectious rage as you’d expect, perhaps with a little progression in the production.

Yet it’s their consistency that brings this record, in particular, to the forefront of British music; Jason Williamson’s voice resonates more clearly and heavily than ever before. With Britain a polarised state of anxiety and apathy in equal measures — both of which Sleaford Mods have relentlessly attacked — it’s not time to analyse, but simply listen… or not.
