You never quite know what associations people have with the phrase ‘Grandma’s House’. There’ll be as many people who think of excessive heaps of home-baked treats and seemingly endless fondness, as there will be those who think of overcooked cabbage and hearing the same story about Beryl from number twelve as the last four times they’ve visited. Apply the phrase to Bristol’s music scene and Grandma’s House will have people thinking “That’s where I want to be.” And if your Nan genuinely ever let you play this Bristolian trio’s ferocious post-punk at her house, then she’d be the savviest Nan imaginable.

The trio put their hive mind to our ‘In Short’ questions and sent this little update on how they’ve been dealing with the privations of lockdown: “We all live together, so we’ve been making a lot of TikToks and have watched most of Love Island Australia, so I think we’ve been pretty productive to be honest. It’s hard not being able to go to the studio – we were in the middle of recording a new single, which we’ve put on hold for now, but we can’t wait to share it soon! We’re definitely looking forward to playing gigs again, especially as we were meant to be playing London and Brighton for the first time ever in the next couple of weeks, so we’re excited to do that at some point in 2020!”
